Michael “Mickey” Pileggi
Mr. Michael “Mickey” Pileggi, a lifelong resident of Linden, died Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Peggy Coloney House, a division of the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains.
Family and friends are invited to meet at Kowalski Funeral Home, 515 Roselle Street, Linden on Thursday, May 17th. at 8:30AM where a funeral service will be held at 9:00AM followed by the funeral mass to be offered at St. Theresa’s R.C. Church, Linden at 10:00AM. Entombment will be in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation is on Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00PM
Mr. Pileggi was born in Elizabeth and was raised in Linden by his parents Vito and Emelia Pileggi. After graduating from Linden High School he went to work for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (A&P) until he entered the army to serve in the Korean War from 1952-1954. Mr. Pileggi was a member of the 8th Army’s Quartermaster Corp. until his tour of duty ended. While he did not see active duty, Mr. Pileggi did have the opportunity to entertain the troops by playing the accordion. Upon returning home, Mr. Pileggi continued to work for the A&P where he spent 46 years working both as deli manager and dairy manager in stores throughout Union County. Mr. Pileggi also was the Shop Steward for the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union Local #464A. Concurrently, Mr. Pileggi worked as a clerk for Stern’s Department Store in Woodbridge Center Mall for four years, retiring in 1998.
After achieving full retirement, Mr. Pileggi became actively involved in several clubs in Linden, including the Linden Retired Men’s Club, where he is the current president, Linden AARP Chapter #1894, where he is a current trustee and past president, the Old Guard of Elizabeth Chapter #4, where he is the president, the VFW Post #1397, the American Legion Post #328, both of Linden, and the Union County Korean War Veterans. In 2007, Mr. Pileggi was named Linden Senior Citizen of the Year and was honored with a ceremony at the John T. Gregorio Center.
In his final years, Mr. Pileggi volunteered his time at the Union County Performing Arts Center of Rahway and was a member of the Linden Cultural Committee.
Mr. Pileggi is pre-deceased by his wife Carolyn and his sister and brother-in-law, Cecilia and Stanley Conrad.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Pileggi, Jr., Robert Pileggi and his wife Farrah Pileggi, his daughter, Joanne Callahan and her husband Scott Callahan, his brother Ralph Pileggi and his wife Mary Pileggi, and his grandchildren, Victoria Pileggi and Nicholas Pileggi.

Frank M. Chapka
Mr. Frank M. Chapka, 81, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston.

Born in Linden, Mr. Chapka lived in Roselle for 53 years before moving to Vauxhall 9 years ago.
He was a warehouseman for Madsen & Howell, Perth Amboy, for eight years, retiring in 1997.
Mr. Chapka served in the U.S. Navy during peacetime and was a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus Council # 2859.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris T. Rainville Chapka (1995).
Mr. Chapka is survived by his two sons, Michael R. Chapka and Thomas J. Chapka and his wife, Diane and five grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Ethan, Eric and Emily Chapka.

Vincenzo Agostaro
Mr. Vincenzo Agostaro, 88, died Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Overlook Medical Center, Summit.

Born in Gratteri, Italy, Mr. Agostaro came to the United States and Linden in 1967.
He was employed as a steel worker by Bethlehem Steel, Elizabeth for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Agostaro served in the Italian military – the Bersaglieri, during World War II and was also a prisoner of War in Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Francesca Cannici Agostaro, his two sons, Tony Agostaro and Rosario Agostaro and his wife, Gayle, and his two grandchildren, Vincenzo and Gabriella Agostaro.

Mrs. Rosenberg is survived by her mother, Mary I. Szutie Lesniak, her brother, Kenneth Lesniak and his wife, Kathryn and her nieces and nephew, Julie Lesniak and her fiancé, Kevin Bailey, Beth Khizver and her husband, Alex and Scott Lesniak.

Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Fritz lived in North Wildwood before moving to Linden 14 years ago.
She was a security guard for Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City for 10 years retiring in 1998. Prior to that, Mrs. Fritz was the owner and operator of the Sandy Court Motel in North Wildwood from 1956 to 1988.
She was a member of the Retired Men’s Club and the Tremley Point Seniors Club, both of Linden.
Predeceased by her husband, Richard W. Fritz in 1992, Mrs. Fritz is survived by her sister, Helen Karafa.

She was a junior accountant for American Home Products, NYC, NY, for 20 years, retiring in 1992.
A member of the Cranford “Friday Seniors Club”, Mrs. Matos was an active Union County volunteer in the Cranford senior community.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Andujar-Herbert, her granddaughter, Alaina Herbert, her brother, Charlie Morales and his wife, Provi, her niece and nephew, Leslie Sanandres and Jason Morales and her great niece and great nephew, Alexis and Christopher Sanandres.

She was a machine operator for Hug Die Casting in Kenilworth for fifteen years, retiring fourteen years ago. Prior to that, she worked as a cook for Big Stash’s Restaurant, Linden for many years.
Predeceased by her husband, Piotr Zawistowski, Mrs. Zawistowska is survived by her son, Tadeusz Zawistowski and his wife, Jolanta, her daughter, Halina Jakowicz and her husband, Jan, her sisters, Henryka Szypulska and Janina Zalewska, her grandchildren, Ivonne Morkis and Cathy Zawistowski and her great grandchildren, Rachel and Kevin Morkis.

Mrs. Hance was employed by the Star Ledger, Newark, as a newspaper home delivery woman for twenty-eight years retiring in January of 2012. She was loved by all of her customers because of her work ethic and dedication to her job.
She was predeceased by her father, Frank Robert Heick (2006) and her brother, Robert Frank Heick (1952).
Mrs. Hance is survived by her husband of seventeen years, Edward N. Hance Jr., her six children, Edward N. Hance III, Matthew J.R. Doktor, Megan E. Doktor, Dr. Katherine L. Doktor, Michele L. Hance, Christine D. Hance-Guth and her husband, Christopher, her three grandchildren, Dylan Matusiefsky, Brandon Guth and Joshua Guth, her mother, Joan G. Heick, her sisters, Barbara H. Coats, Alison H. Varghese and her husband, Dr. Samuel Varghese and Meredith A. Heick, her special family friend, Audrey L. Born in Wanamie, Pa., Mrs. Dombrowski lived in Linden for 20 years and Cape May for 7 years, before exploring residences in other states.
She loved to cook, bake and entertain. Mrs. Dombrowski was very active in the church, as a member of St. Theresa’s Rosary Society and the Polish Women’s Alliance and as a CCD instructor. In her spare time, she was an avid bowler, loved golf and was a great Polka dancer.
Mrs. Dombrowski is survived by her husband of 64 years, Emil A. Dombrowski, her sons, Lawrence Dombrowski and his wife, Elizabeth Kuczewski, Joseph Dombrowski and his wife, Diane, Thomas Dombrowski, John Dombrowski and his wife, Christine, her daughter, Janet Dombrowski, her sister, Gertrude Tarnowski and her six grandchildren.

A master carpenter, Mr. Personette was the owner and operator of Personette Construction, Roselle, for forty years, retiring three years ago.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Viet Nam War.
Mr. Personette is survived by his wife of twenty years, Karen Kukura Personette, his daughter, Kristen Personette, his sisters, Jane Anderson and Gail Rothrock and his grandchildren, Kyah and Bron Gordon.

Mr. Taggart was predeceased by his father, Robert Taggart, his brother, John Taggart and his sister, Kathleen Kierstead.
He is survived by his mother, Florence Johnson Taggart, his daughters, JulieAnn E. Brook and her husband, Douglas R. Brook, Mellissa Taggart, Jennifer Taggart and Tammy Taggart, his son, Charles W. Knierim, his brothers, Raymond Taggart and Paul Taggart, his grandchildren, Douglas R. The daughter of the late Anthony Kosdrosky and the late Mary Fetchu Kosdrosky, Mrs. Materna was also predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. Materna (1970) and her sister and brothers, Helen Ferguson, Albert Kosdrosky and Thomas Kosdrosky.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas and Margaret Materna, Mary Ann and Joseph Hennighan, Joseph A. and Carole Materna, Donnalynn and Dr. John Lazo, Louise Ellen and Deacon Ernest Pagliaro, her brother, Martin Kosdrosky, her sister, Louise Yarcusko, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

She was a reservation agent for Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, Ga., for twelve years, retiring in 1980.
Christine is the daughter of the late Alexandra C. Chudack Pendergast (2007) and the late Thomas M. Pendergast (2004)
She is survived by her sisters, Natalie J. Pendergast and Lynne A. Pendergast.

Born in Altoona, Pa., Mrs. Squashic Muzychko lived in Linden and Rahway for over 50 years before moving to Lafayette a few years ago.
She was the lead circuit board operator for Weston Instruments Inc., Newark for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Squashic Muzychko was a past-president and member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Secular Franciscans and the Catholic War Veterans Post 497, a past 2nd. vice-president and member of the General Pulaski Memorial Parade Committee and a past chaplain and member of the Senior Citizens Club, all of St. Theresa’s Church, Linden. She was a past president and member of both the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus Council # 2859 and the Catholic Golden Age Club, as well as the past secretary of the Lady of Fatima Catholic Daughters, all of Linden and she still found time to be an avid bowler in Linden and Clark bowling leagues.
Mrs. Squashic Muzychko was predeceased by her husbands, Andrew J. Squashic and Vasil Muzychko and her son, Frank Squashic.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Squashic, her grandchildren, Christopher Squashic, Maria Hoelderlin and her husband, Peter, Steven Squashic and his wife, Christine and her great grandchildren, Alexis and Nicole Hoelderlin, Zoe, Nicholas, Julia and Olivia Squashic, her step-son, William Muzychko and his wife Carol and other Muzychko Family.

Born in Tarnawka, Poland, Mr. Kurasz came to this country and Linden in 1949, where he resided until moving to Woodbridge in 2007.
He was a mechanic for American Standard, Piscataway for many years, retiring in 1981.
Mr. Kurasz served in the Polish Army and was a POW in Russia from 1939 to 1941 and he was then sent to Germany from 1941 to 1945.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society and also served as an usher for St. Theresa’s Church, Linden.
Mr. Kurasz is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Josephine Fech Kurasz, nephews, Walter Tchorz and Stanley Tchorz, nieces, Helen Klutkoski and Violet Torio, as well as many great nieces and great nephews.

He was a civil engineer for over twenty-two years, having worked the last fourteen years for Wegman Engineering, NYC, NY, prior to retiring in 1989.
Mr. Leistman was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army.
He was the treasurer and member of the AARP Linden Chapter # 1894 and also enjoyed membership in the Linden Knights of Columbus Council # 2859, the American Legion Post # 328, Clark, the Deutscher German Club, Clark, the Linden Retired Men’s Club, the Merry Go Rounders and he was the past president of Parents Without Partners.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Travis Edmund Leistman (1991).

Private services were held for Mrs. Michaelyn “Mickey” A. Cunliffe Cook, 66, who died Monday, November 14, 2011 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway.
Although born in New London, Connecticut, Mrs. Cook lived her entire life in Linden.
She was employed by the City of Linden for forty years as a library assistant in the Public Library system, working in all of the Linden library branches, until her retirement in 2005.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband of thirty-four years, Clifford K. Cook and her brothers and sisters, Edward J. Cunliffe, James M. Cunliffe, Mrs. Rosemary North and Ms. Cheryl A. Cunliffe.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Ryszewski was raised in Linden, New Jersey, living there for twenty years before moving to Framingham, Massachusetts, where he was a foreman for General Motors for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1972. After his retirement, he enjoyed the sunshine of Port Salerno, Florida for thirty-three years. Mr. Ryszewski then moved to Paola, Kansas for four years to be near his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent A. and Jean Ryszewski. He then finally settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, these past two years, where he was near his daughter, Diane S. Ryszewski and her companion, Barbara Dunn.
Mr. Ryszewski was a member and stockholder of the Polish National Home, Linden.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nettie Yurchuk Ryszewski in 1992.
In addition to his children, Mr. Ryszewski is survived by his sister, Jean Strzalkowski, his three grandchildren, Laura Stanley and her husband, Patrick, Beth Ryszewski and her fiancée, Michael Prittie and Anthony Ryszewski and his three great grandchildren, Liam, Owen and Graham Stanley.

Mrs. Genevieve “Genia” Dragan Adamski, 82,the daughter of the late Joseph Dragan and the late Anna Garbus Dragan, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 in the Delaire Nursing & Convalescent Center, Linden.

Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Adamski lived her entire life on the same block in Linden. She was a graduate of St. Theresa’s Grammar School. Linden, Linden High School and attended the MME. Curie-Sklodowski University in Lublin, Poland.
She was a secretary for Leonard & Leonard Law Offices, Linden for 20 years until 1980. After that she worked simultaneously as a bookkeeper for Vantage Custom Classics and as an office manager for Dr. Robert Sawicki, both in Linden, for 19 years, before retiring in 1999.
Mrs. Adamski was a past president of both the Ladies Auxiliary and the Parish Council, a member of the Senior Citizens Club, a past Archdiocesan Deanery Representative and one of the organizers and past president of the Linden Pulaski Parade Committee, all of St. Theresa’s Church, Linden. She was the first lady marshall from Linden in the 1985 N.Y.C. Pulaski Day Parade. Mrs. Adamski was the financial secretary and member of the Polish Women’s Alliance, Group # 779, a member of the Polish National Alliance, Lodge # 3171 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Linden Knights of Columbus Council # 2859. She was the recording secretary of the former Polish National Home, Linden, a member of the Kosciuszko Foundation, New York City, the Polish Cultural Foundation, Clark, the Sunnyside Exxon Annuitants, Linden, the Catholic Golden Age Club, Linden, the Senior Citizens Wednesday Club, Linden and the AARP. Mrs. Adamski loved to travel and over the years, she visited 49 of the United States and 10 countries.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alex A. Adamski (1989), and her two sons, Raymond F. Adamski (1997) and Robert J. Adamski (1993) and her brothers and sisters, Jacob Dragan, John A. Dragan, Mary Kurek and Josephine Hoehn.
Mrs. Adamski is survived by her daughter, Christine Adamski-Mietus and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Mietus and her three grandchildren, Joseph and Nicholas Adamski-Mietus and Robert Stephen Adamski.

Mrs. Kaiser was a keypunch operator for over 50 years, working for Bayer, in Mountainside, followed by the National State Bank in Linden before retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the Polish Women’s Alliance, the Linden Senior Citizens Club and the AARP.
Mrs. Kaiser was a veteran of World War II, serving in the WAVES in the U.S. Navy.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brother, Jean Falda, Gertrude McTiernan, Theresa Klutkowski and George Klutkowski.
Mrs. Kaiser is survived by her daughters, Adrienne R. Kaiser-Comito and her husband, Patrick, Alison R. Kaiser and her companion, John Venturelli, her son, Gregory S. Kaiser and his wife, Tammy, her sister-in-law, Anne Klutkowski, her niece, Melanie McTiernan Norbut and her husband, Michael Norbut and her nephews, George and Dean Klutkowski.

Mr. Dreissig was employed as a mail carrier and voma for the U.S. Postal Service at the Wood Avenue Main Branch in Linden for 42 years until 1987, after which he worked as a courier for Action Data Services, North Jersey for 20 years, retiring in 2007
He was very involved in Holy Family R.C. Church activities, as a member of the parish council, the St. Joseph’s Club, a church usher and a participant in the Holiday baking. Mr. Dreissig was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 2859, third degree, the Tremley Point Senior Citizens Club and Chapter # 1894 AARP, all of Linden and the National Association of Letter Carriers.
He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Dreissig (2003).
Mr. Dreissig is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Pado Dreissig, his daughter, Kathleen Zofcin and her husband, Bernard, his son, Thomas Dreissig and his wife, Phyllis, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Febick (1987) and her father, Edward J. Weber Sr. (2008).

He was an inspector for General Motors, Linden for 42 years, retiring in 1981.
A veteran of WW II, Mrs. Stracensky served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of the VFW Post 335, Cranford, the Tremley Point Senior Citizens Club, Linden and he loved to golf.
Mr. Stracensky is predeceased by his wife, Anna M. Pado Stracensky (2000) and his brothers, Andy, Joe and Frank Stracensky and John Zupko.

Born and raised in Linden, Mrs. Sharo lived in Colonia for twenty-eight years and Jamesburg for twelve years, before moving to Basking Ridge five years.
She worked as an insurance claims adjuster for various companies such as Blue Cross & Blue Shield of New Jersey, Hanover Insurance, Hertz Claim Management and Concentra Insurance, for over eighteen years, retiring seven years ago.
Mrs. Sharo was very active in the Ridge Oak Senior Housing, where she was the co-chair of the Bazaar, a member of the recreation committee and a member of the Miss Steppers Dance Troupe. She was also a member of the Linden AARP Chapter # 1894. Mrs. Sharo’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face.
Mrs. Sharo was predeceased by her husband, Frederick, in 1979.
She is survived by her children, Frank F Sharo and his wife, Sharon, Carl A. Sharo and his wife, Patty, Karen M. Rocca and her husband, Tom, Patti A. Campbell and her husband, Bruce and Nancy L. Mr. Hergenhan was a fireman for the City of Linden for thirty-nine years, stationed in House #1, before retiring in1988.
He was a veteran of WW II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Hergenhan was a member of the Guard of Honor of St. Elizabeth’s Church, Linden, the FMBA Local # 34, the NJ Exempt Firemen’s Association and the Union County Local #3 Retired Police and Firemen’s Association. He was also a committeeman and leader in the Boy Scouts of America Troop # 34, Linden, a member of the Linden Third Ward Democratic Club, a life member of the Deutscher Club, Clark and the President of the Linden Board of Health.
He was predeceased by his sons, David J. Hergenhan (1995) and Kenneth R. Hergenhan (2000), as well as his brothers, Arnold Hergenhan Jr., Frances Hergenhan, a Linden High School teacher who was killed in World War II and his sisters, Vera Berlin, Margaret Hoffmann and Ruth Kennyhertz.
Mr. Hergenhan is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Esther A. Creitz Hergenhan and his grandson, Michael John Hergenhan.

She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Kaseta.

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mr. Slavinski has lived in Linden since 1980.
He was a technical director for ACC Coatings, LLC in Middlesex for almost 2 years, working with chemical formulations and analysis. Prior to that, Mr. Slavinski worked in the same field for Converters Ink in Linden for many years.
He was predeceased by his father, John J. Slavinski.
Mr. Slavinski is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Mrs. Denise C. Caton Slavinski, his daughter, Miss Jill Slavinski and her fiancée, Robert Americk, his mother, Eleanor Androski Slavinski and his sister, Janice Herr.

Born in Jersey City, Mrs. Bevilaque lived in Elizabeth before moving to Linden in 1940.
She was a member of St. John the Apostle’s Rosary Society and the McGillvray Pond Social Club, both of Linden.
Mrs. Bevilaque was predeceased by her husband, Emil (1979), her son, Raymond and her grandson Raymond Jr.
She is survived by her son, Joseph J. Bevilaque Sr. and his wife, Lorraine, her brother, Joseph Minerchak and his wife, Louise, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Barbara Bevilaque.

He was an operating room surgical technologist for the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, Pa. for the past five months.
A 2010 graduate of the Sanford Brown Institute, Iselin, Michael was also a member of the Association of Surgical Technologies. Fishing was Michael’s passion and he was a member of the Fishing Club of America.
He was predeceased by his mother, Debra “Debbie” A. Corduan Novalany (2001).
Michael is survived by his father, George Novalany, his brother, Joseph A. Novalany and his wife, Lisa R. Novalany and his maternal grandmother, Joann Corduan.

Mr. Michael P. Selvanto, 19, of Manahawkin, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Lakewood Township.

Born in Rahway, Michael lived in various parts of New Jersey and Florida, before returning to Manahawkin a year and a half ago.
Michael worked in his father’s restaurant, Michael’s on the Bay, in Barnegat, where his involvement cover all areas, from chef to wait staff to even busing tables . He helped wherever he was needed.
Michael was a member of the Brick High School Wrestling Team. He loved building custom cars with his father and he also loved to sing.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael S. Selvanto and his wife, Sheri L. Selvanto, his mother, Gail Salerno-Wilhelm and her husband Richard, his sisters, Samantha Selvanto, Jessica Gould, Stephanie Gould, Melissa Gould, Courtney Wilhelm, Audrey Wilhelm and Patricia Schaefer, his brothers, Anthony Bajek, Scott Skocypec and Derick Wilhelm, his maternal grandparents, Patrick and Patricia Salerno and his paternal grandparents, the late Michael L. Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Bauer lived in Roselle for thirty-seven years. He moved to Toms River, where he lived for twenty-three years and then moved to Kenilworth in November of 2010.
Mr. Bauer was a police officer for the Roselle Police Department, for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1980.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II
Mr. Bauer was predeceased by his son, Thomas F. Bauer Jr. in 1989.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Florence L. Sager Bauer, his daughter, Mary Ann Baginski, his son-in-law, Kenneth Baginski and his grandson, Kenneth Baginski Jr.

Ann Lesko Delicot
Mrs. Ann Lesko Delicot, 93, died Friday, July 8, 2011 in the Whitehall Manor, Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
Born in Jacobs Creek, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Delicot lived in Linden from 1950 until 2007, when she moved to Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
She was a “supply girl” for R.C.A. Inc., in Avenel for fifteen years and retired in 1972.
Mrs. Delicot was predeceased by her husband, John Delicot on December 2, 2006 and her three sisters, Margaret Yanuta, Betty Glinski and Mary Fumagalli.
She is survived by her sister, Pauline Iscaro, as well as her nephew, Donald Glinsky and his wife, Ann, who always looked after her welfare and helped Mrs. Delicot maintain a good quality of life.
The immediate funeral services were private. The interment of her cremains, as well as the cremains of her husband, John, will take place in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, at a future date to be announced.

Mrs. Marchitto was predeceased by her husband, Frank Marchitto in 1993.

He was the owner and operator of the Europa Meat Market, Jersey City for twenty-five years, retiring in 2006.

Born in Elizabeth, Mr. Babulski was a lifelong resident of Linden.
He worked for American Cyanamid, Linden, as a laborer, digging tanks for several years. In 1947, he joined the Linden Fire Department where he remained until his retirement in 1978. He attained the rank of Fire Captain in 1962.
Mr. Babulski was a member of the NJ Exempt Firemen’s Association, the Union County Local # 3 Retired Police and Firemen’s Association, the FMBA Local # 34 and the FMBA Local # 234.
A violinist in high school, he continued later on to play the fiddle with various local bands, especially the Al Roman Band every Saturday night.
Mr. Babulski was predeceased by his wife, Sophie Romanowski Babulski who died May 25, 2011 and his two sons, Reverend Robert E. Babulski (1998) and Edward R. Babulski (2005).
He is survived by his son, Richard Babulski, his daughters-in-law, Susan J. Babulski and Judith Babulski, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Born in East Hampton, Massachussetts, Mr. Pawlikowski lived in Linden for eighty years before moving to Carol Stream, Illinois in late 2009.
He was a realtor and insurance agent and the founder and operator of Walgert’s Agency in Linden for over fifty years, retiring in December of 2008.
Mr. Pawlikowski was a member of the National Realtors Association. Locally in Linden, he was a past president and member of the Lions Club, a past member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 2859 and was a lifelong member of St. Theresa’s Church where he was actively involved in many of its’ parish activities.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gertrude Jazowski Pawlikowski (1965).
Mr. Pawlikowski is survived by his loving daughter, Donna Marie Shaw and her husband, James K. Shaw, his cherished granddaughters, Melissa Marie Shaw and Allison Marie Shaw, his dear goddaughter and niece, Theresa M. Kloc and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Avoca, Pennsylvania, Mr. Wilk lived in Duryea, Pennsylvania before moving to Linden in 1959.
He worked as a warehouseman for Lucent Technologies in Clark for 33 years until 1983. After that, Mr. Wilk worked in the sales and delivery department of Koenig’s Hardware, Linden, followed by a 10 year employment as a security guard in the Union County Jail in Elizabeth.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Wilk is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna M. Brown Wilk, his sons, Thomas E. Wilk and his wife, Barbara, George C. Wilk and his wife, Patricia, William A. Wilk and his wife, Annette, his daughter, Karen M. Born in Newark, Mrs. Klem lived in Elizabeth before moving to Roselle 56 years ago.
She was a telecommunications facilitator for Wachovia Bank in Rahway & Linden for 22 years retiring in 1994. Prior to that, she was a switchboard operator for the Prudential Insurance Co., Newark for 4 years.
Mrs. Klem was a past president and member of the Newcomers’ Club of Roselle- Roselle Park and a member of the Twin Boro Contact Club, Roselle. She was the health advisor and member of the AARP Linden Chapter # 1894.
Mrs. Klem was also a member of the General Pulaski Memorial Parade Committee and the Senior Citizen’s Club, both of St. Theresa’s Church, the Retired Men’s Club, the Friendship Club and the Gregorio Senior Crafts Club, all of Linden.
Mrs. Klem is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Joseph A. Klem, her son, Kenneth J. Klem and his companion, Steven Patterson, her daughter, Deborah Klem and her husband, Robert Harmann, her brother-in-law, Donald Van Buskirk and her three nieces, Kristine Reilly and her husband, Jack, Karen Gawlik and Joanne Gawlik.

Mr. Gergich was a pipefitter for Citgo in Linden for forty years retiring in 1982 and he was also a representative for their Federal Credit Union. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was a past treasurer and current member of the Linden Knights of Columbus Council # 2859. In addition, Mr. Gergich was a member of the Men of Distinction Club and for many years took part in the holiday baking events at Holy Family R.C. Church, both in Linden.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred E. Fornadel Gergich (1993) and his grandson, Jeffrey C. Ford (2005).
Mr. Gergich is survived by his children, Charles G. Gergich and his wife, Brenda, Maryann Noon and her husband, Michael Jr., Regina Ford and her husband, Jeffery and Kathleen Gergich, his sister, Theresa Palay, his grandchildren, Joshua, Patrick and Aubree Gergich, Michael Noon III, Katherine Bauer and David Ford and his great grandchildren, Benjamin and Ethan Noon, Kevin and Jack Bauer and Mr. Gergich’s companion, Irene Babulski.

One of a triplet birth, Isabella Marie was born on March 29, 2011 in New Brunswick.
She is the cherished daughter of Patricia Lynn Bejgrowicz Howlett and Jeremy W. Howlett, loving sister of Alexandra Lynn Howlett and Jennifer Audrae Howlett, beloved by her paternal grandparents, Audrae Richards Howlett and George Howlett and her maternal grandparents, Deacon John P. Bejgrowicz and the late Rosemary Balick Bejgrowicz, treasured by her paternal great grandmothers, Carmella Howlett and Shirley Jones and her maternal great grandmother, Nina Balick and adored by her uncle and aunts, Craig Howlett, Lisa Cook and Laura Swoboda.

Elzbieta E. Karman Morawiec
Private services and burial in her home country of Poland, will take place for Mrs. Elzbieta E. Karman Morawiec, 56, who died Friday, April 1, 2011 in the Haven Hospice of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison.
Mrs. Morawiec was born in Poland and came to the United States in 1999 and settled in Elizabeth.
She is survived by her husband, Andrzej W. Morawiec, her son, Maruisz Morawiec and her brother, Wojciech Morawiec.

John S. Cetnarski
Mr. John S. Cetnarski, 91, of Linden died Friday, April 1, 2011 in the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains.

Born in Bayonne, Mr. Cetnarski lived there prior to moving to Linden in 1955.
He was a seaman for Texaco in Bayonne for 41 years until1983. He continued to work part time for the EPA in Edison as a security guard until 1999.
Mr. Cetnarski, a veteran of World War II, US Army, was member of the American Legion Post # 102, Linden.
He is predeceased by his wife, Helen J. Antas Cetnarski in 2001.
Mr. Cetnarski is survived by his five daughters, Claire Tkach and her husband, Leonard, Kathleen Regep and her husband, John, Diane Boyle and her husband, John, Nancy Ilaria and her husband, Louis and Helen Bird and her husband, Robert, his brother, Joseph Cetnarski, his two sisters, Veronica Kacmar and Helen Phillips, his three grandchildren and his three great grandchildren.

Ella R. Burling Miller
Private services were held for Mrs. Ella R. Burling Miller, 95, who died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Green Knoll Care & Rehabilitation Center, Bridgewater.
Born in Hollis, Long Island, New York, Mrs. Miller lived in Winfield Park from 1943 to 2004. She then spent two years in Texas, before returning to Bridgewater in 2006.
She was predeceased by her husband, George H. Miller (1980).
Mrs. Miller is survived by her two sons, George J. Miller and his wife, Peggy and Richard E. Miller and his wife, Mary, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Richard J. Ludwiczak
Mr. Richard J. Ludwiczak, 86, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 in the Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Elizabeth.

Born in Jersey City, Mr. Ludwiczak lived there until moving to Linden in 1952.
He was a lineman for P.S.E. & G., Elizabeth for 40 years, retiring in the 1980’s.
Mr. Ludwiczak was a veteran of WW II, U.S. Army, where he took part in the Normandy Invasion and he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
No 1397, Linden.
He was the son of the late Frank and Frances Ludwiczak and was predeceased by his wife, Dorothea J. Cunliffe Ludwiczak (1995) and his brother, Charles Ludwiczak (1980).
Mr. Ludwiczak is survived by his sister, Dorothy M. Danowski and her husband, John, his sister-in-law, Claire Ludwiczak and five nieces and nephews and four great nieces and great nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Angelo J. Damiano Sr. (2002) and her grandson, Joseph Damiano (1984).
Mrs. Damiano is survived by her two sons, Angelo J. Damiano and his wife, Mary Ellen and Alan E. Damiano and his wife, Joan, her sister, Joan Copie, her three grandchildren, Michael Damiano, Steven Damiano and Amanda Mathes and her three great grandchildren, Joseph, Julia and Chase Damiano.

Born in Elizabeth, Mrs. Augustine resided in Roselle Park for twenty years, followed by Linden for seventy years.
She was a clerical worker for National Health Laboratories, Mountainside for twelve years, retiring in 1992.
Over fifty years ago, Mrs. Augustine, along with her late husband, Walter Haligowski, was a founding charter member of the Linden Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and its’ Auxiliary. She served as the Auxiliary’s President for several years. Mrs. Augustine was also a past commander of the DAV George H. Keller Chapter # 14 Ladies Auxiliary, Rahway. During the 1960’s she was honored as the State of New Jersey Citizen of the Year and in 2003, Mrs. Augustine was the Linden Senior Citizen of the Year.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Walter Haligowski (1960) and Andrew Augustine (1979).
Mrs. Augustine is survived by her daughters, Linda M. Augustine and her husband, Henry Augustine and Patricia Zezza and her husband, Richard Zezza, her step-sons, Andrew Augustine and Robert Augustine and her three grandchildren, Richard, Joseph and Nicole Zezza.

Born in Poland, Mr. Binczycki came to the United States in 1988 and lived in Passaic before moving to Roselle seventeen years ago.
He worked for various employers in the construction industry before his retirement ten years ago.
Mr. Binczycki was predeceased by his son, Tomasz A. Binczycki in 1996.
Mr. Binczycki is survived by his wife, Janina Matyka Binczycki, his sons, Bogdan Binczycki and Wojtek Binczycki and his wife, Elzbieta and his daughters, Malgorzata Krysicki and her husband, Jerzy and Renata Kulagowski, two brothers, Marian Binczycki and Edward Binczycki, two sisters, Jolanta Olczak and Danuta Jajkowska and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
