Jamie, the daughter of the late Abigal Leehan Cullum and the late Ronald Cullum, was born in Omaha, Nebraska.  Her family moved to New Jersey in 1968 and Jaime lived in various places throughout the state, including Roxbury Township for ten years, before settling in Toms River four years ago.

Jamie’s career as a social worker spanned twenty years and she was employed by the Community Psychiatric Institute in West Orange.  She finally earned her well-deserved retirement in 2016.

Jamie was a vivacious lady with a beaming smile and sparkling eyes.  Her friendliness and her love of life could turn anyone’s bad day around and Jamie definitely was the life of any party.  She was the president of the Women’s Club of the Lake Ridge Community, Toms River, where she had a huge circle of friends.  Always on the move, Jamie enjoyed the various activities offered within her community, whether it was playing cards, all sorts of games or simply going out with friends and socializing.

Travel was also high on her list and Jamie enjoyed going on vacations.  However, more than anything else, Jamie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  It didn’t matter if it was a holiday celebration, a family BBQ or just a plain “get together” sitting in the yard, talking about silly things.  Jamie knew that there is nothing else in the entire world more important than “family” and she was devoted to hers.

Jamie is survived by her son, Michael F. Chapka and his wife, Victoria; her daughter, Sarah Uebelein and her husband, Leo; her husband, Richard M. Caruana; her three grandchildren, Madison Chapka, Ryan Chapka and Maksym Uebelein; her brother David Cullum; her fantastic feline, Jax and Jamie’s many neighbors and friends.

Jamie was truly the center of life for her family, and she had an abundance of love for everyone in her circle.  Jamie will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.
